Refugee Movie Unknown Facts :
1) This film was the debut film of both Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor. However, Kareena Kapoor was about to make her debut with Hrithik Roshan’s film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. She shot some scenes for the film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai for a few days. But she felt that this film would not work, so then she left that film and signed the Refugee film.
2) When the shooting of this film started, about three thousand people came to see Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan became very nervous after seeing such a crowd, and he had to take 17 retakes in his first shot. JP Dutta himself said this in one of his interviews.
3) This film was earlier going to clash with Bobby Deol’s film Bichhoo. But Guddu Dhanoa, the director of the Bichhoo film, had extended the release date of the Bichhoo film for a week.
4) Director JP Dutta first offered lead role to Salman Khan. But Salman Khan had rejected because he said that he will not fit in this film.
5) Before Sudesh Berry, his role was offered to Aditya Pancholi. But he refused to act in the film.
6) In this film, Bipasha Basu was to be seen opposite Sunil Shetty. But she refused to work in this film. Hence her role was removed from the film itself.
7) JP Dutta wanted to cast Akshaye Khanna first in this film for the role of Shadab Khan. But this role was too small, so he changed his mind.
रिफ्यूजी फिल्म से जुड़ी कुछ अनसुनी बातें ( Facts in Hindi ) :
1) ये फिल्म अभिषेक बच्चन और करीना कपूर दोनों की डेब्यू फिल्म थी. हालाँकि करीना कपूर अपना डेब्यू रितिक रोशन के साथ कहो न प्यार है से करने वाली थी. उन्होंने कहो न प्यार है फिल्म की शूटिंग कुछ दिन की भी थी. लेकिन उन्हें लगता था की ये फिल्म नहीं चलेगी इसलिए फिर उन्होंने वो फिल्म छोड़कर रिफ्यूजी फिल्म साइन किया था.
2) जब इस फिल्म की शूटिंग शुरू हुयी थी तब करीब तीन हज़ार लोग अमिताभ बच्चन के बेटे अभिषेक बच्चन को देखने आये थे. इतनी भीड़ देखकर अभिषेक बच्चन बहुत नर्वस हो गए थे, और अपने पहले ही शॉट में उन्हें 17 रिटेक लेना पड़ा था. ये बात खुद जे पी दत्ता ने अपनी एक इंटरव्यू में बताया था.
3) ये फिल्म पहले बॉबी देओल की फिल्म बिच्छू के साथ क्लैश होने वाली थी. लेकिन बिच्छू फिल्म के डायरेक्टर गुड्डू धनोआ ने बिच्छू फिल्म की रिलीज़ डेट को एक हफ्ता आगे बढ़ा दिया था.
4) डायरेक्टर जे पी दत्ता ने लीड एक्टर का रोल पहले सलमान खान को ऑफर किया था. लेकिन सलमान खान ने रिजेक्ट कर दिया था क्योंकि उनका कहना था की वे इस फिल्म में फिट नहीं बैठेंगे.
5) सुदेश बेर्री से पहले उनका रोल आदित्य पंचोली को ऑफर हुआ था. लेकिन उन्होंने इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था.
6) इस फिल्म में सुनील शेट्टी के अपोजिट पहले बिपाशा बासु नज़र आने वाली थी. लेकिन उन्होंने इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था. इसलिए उनके रोल को ही फिल्म से हटा दिया गया था.
7) शादाब खान वाले रोल के लिए जे पी दत्ता इस फिल्म में पहले अक्षय खन्ना को लेना चाहते थे. लेकिन ये रोल बहुत छोटा था इसलिए उन्होंने अपना इरादा बदल दिया था.
