1) It was Shah Rukh Khan’s first such film which was released in Canada. No Indian movies were released in Canada since 1982. It was also the first film in India that was released in Canada for the first time since 1982.
2) This film was the first film of Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla together. After this, both of them worked together in many films like Darr, Yes Boss, Duplicate and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani. Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan also became good friends after this film.
3) The title of this film was first kept ” Aasman Se Aage “. But it was later changed to “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman”.
4) The story of this film was inspired by Raj Kapoor’s film Shree 420, released in 1955.
5) The film was also released in Japan in 1997.
6) Shah Rukh Khan got married while shooting for this film. At that time, he was not a financial strong and did not have the money to buy a new suit. He borrowed a suit from the costume department. Director Aziz Mirza and producer Vivek Vaswani reached his wedding.
7) When Vivek Vaswani offered this film to Juhi Chawla, she refused earlier. Then Vivek Vaswani convinced her that Shahrukh would be the next Aamir Khan. Juhi Chawla was a very established actress then. She had never met Shahrukh and had never seen him. When Juhi Chawla met Shahrukh on the sets for the first time, she felt very bad. राजू बन गया जेंटलमैन फिल्म से जुड़ी कुछ अनसुनी बातें ( Facts in Hindi ) :
1) ये शाहरुख़ खान की पहली ऐसी फिल्म थी जो कनाडा में रिलीज़ हुयी थी. सन 1982 के बाद से कोई भी इंडियन मूवीज को कनाडा में नहीं रिलीज़ किया गया था. ये भारत की पहली ऐसी फिल्म भी थी जो सन 1982 के बाद पहली बार कनाडा में रिलीज़ हुयी थी.
2) ये फिल्म शाहरुख़ खान और जूही चावला की साथ में पहली फिल्म थी. इसके बाद दोनों ने साथ में डर, यस बॉस, डुप्लीकेट और फिर भी दिल है हिंदुस्तानी जैसी कई फिल्मो में काम किया था. इस फिल्म के बाद जूही चावला और शाहरुख़ खान दोनों अच्छे दोस्त भी बन गए थे.
3) इस फिल्म का टाइटल पहले ” आसमान से आगे ” रखा गया था. लेकिन बाद में इसे बदलकर ” राजू बन गया जेंटलमैन ” कर दिया गया था.
4) इस फिल्म की कहानी सन 1955 में आयी राज कपूर की फिल्म श्री 420 से प्रेरित थी.

7) जब विवेक वासवानी ने इस फिल्म का ऑफर जूही चावला को दिया था, तो उन्होंने पहले मना कर दिया था. फिर विवेक वासवानी ने उन्हें दिलाया की शाहरुख़ अगले आमिर खान हैं. जूही चावला तब एक बहुत ही इस्टैब्लिश एक्ट्रेस थी. उन्होंने शाहरुख़ से न कभी मिला था और न कभी देखा था. जब जूही चावला पहली बार शाहरुख़ से सेट्स पर मिली थी, तब उन्हें बहुत बुरा लगा था. क्योंकि शाहरुख़ बहुत ही पतले थे और उनके बाल भी काफी गंदे थे. उसी रात को जूही चावल ने प्रोडूसर विवेक वासवानी को फ़ोन किया था और कहा था की ” ये आपका अगला आमिर है ? “
8) ये फिल्म शाहरुख़ खान और अमृता सिंह की साथ में पहली फिल्म थी. उसी साल दोनों की एक और फिल्म ” दिल आशना है ” भी रिलीज़ हुयी थी.
9) ये फिल्म नाना पाटेकर और शाहरुख़ खान की साथ में पहली फिल्म थी. इसके बाद दोनों ” शक्ति द पावर ” फिल्म में भी नज़र आये थे. जो सन 2002 में रिलीज़ हुयी थी.
