1) Kader Khan was paid a fee of 1 lakh 21 thousand for writing the dialogues for this film.
2) The remake of this film was later made in Telugu as well. Whose title was “Neram Nadi Kadu Akalidi” and this film was released in the year 1976.
3) In this film Jeetendra did a cameo, he was seen in the song “Yeh Jo Public Hai”.
4) This film was Rajesh Khanna’s second film with Manmohan Desai. Earlier he had worked in Manmohan Desai’s Sachcha Jhootha film.
5) Shatrughan Sinha had claimed that Manmohan Desai had promised him that he would cast him in the film Roti. But Manmohan Desai signed Rajesh Khanna in the film considering the stardom of him.

1) इस फिल्म के लिए डॉयलोग्स लिखने के लिए कादर खान को 1 लाख 21 हज़ार की फीस दी गयी थी.
2) इस फिल्म का रीमेक बाद में तेलुगु में भी बनाया गया था. जिसका टाइटल ” नेरम नाड़ी कडु अक़लीदी ” था और ये फिल्म सन 1976 में रिलीज़ हुयी थी.
3) इस फिल्म में जीतेन्द्र ने कैमियो किया था वे ” ये जो पब्लिक है ” गाने में नज़र आये थे.
4) ये फिल्म राजेश खन्ना की मनमोहन देसाई के साथ में दूसरी फिल्म थी. इससे पहले उन्होंने मनमोहन देसाई की सच्चा झूठा फिल्म में काम किया था.
5) शत्रुघ्न सिन्हा ने ये दावा किया था की मनमोहन देसाई ने उनसे वादा किया था की वे रोटी फिल्म में उन्हें लेंगे. लेकिन मनमोहन देसाई ने राजेश खन्ना के स्टारडम को देखते हुए उन्हें ही फिल्म में साइन किया था.
6) मुमताज़ से पहले उनका रोल डिंपल कपाड़िया को ऑफर हुआ था. लेकिन उन्होंने इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था.
