1) This film was a remake of the 1982 film Nadiya Ke Paar. Both the films were based on Keshav Prasad Mishra’s novel “Kohbar ki shart”.
2) The film was also dubbed and released in Telugu with the title Premalayam and the film ran in theaters for 200 days in the Telugu version.
3) This was the first Bollywood film to have gross collection of 100 crores in India.
4) This film was the highest grossing film of the 90s. The footfall of this film was 7.40 crores.
5) Prem’s role in this film was first offered to Aamir Khan. But he refused to work in this film. Then this role was offered to Salman Khan. Salman Khan’s career was not going well then. That’s why he signed this film and this film proved to be the turning point for Salman Khan.
6) This film was Salman Khan’s second film with Rajshri Productions. His first film with Rajshri Production was Maine Pyar Kiya which was released in 1989.

1) ये फिल्म सन 1982 में आयी फिल्म नदिया के पार की रीमेक थी. दोनों ही फिल्मे केशव प्रसाद मिश्रा की नावेल ” कोहबर की शर्त ” पर आधारित थी.
2) इस फिल्म को तेलुगु में भी डब कर के रिलीज़ किया गया था जिसका टाइटल प्रेमालयम था और ये फिल्म तेलुगु वर्शन में 200 दिनों तक थिएटर में चली थी.
3) ये बॉलीवुड की पहली फिल्म थी जिसने भारत में 100 करोड़ का ग्रॉस कलेक्शन किया था.
4) ये फिल्म 90 के दौर की सबसे ज्यादा कमाने वाली फिल्म थी. इस फिल्म का फुटफॉल्स 7.40 करोड़ था.
5) इस फिल्म में प्रेम का रोल सबसे पहले आमिर खान को ऑफर हुआ था. लेकिन उन्होंने इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था. फिर ये रोल सलमान खान को ऑफर हुआ था. सलमान खान का करियर तब ठीक नहीं चल रहा था. इसलिए उन्होंने ये फिल्म साइन किया था और ये फिल्म सलमान खान के लिए टर्निंग पॉइंट साबित हुयी थी.
