Malamaal Weekly Movie Unknown Facts :
1) This was the second and last Hindi film of Innocent, who played the role of Joseph Anthony Fernandes in this film. His first Hindi film was “Doli Saja Ke Rakhna” which was released in 1998. Innocent’s voice was dubbed in the film Malamaal Weekly. His voice was given by Tiku Talsania.
2) This film got negative reviews from critics, yet the film proved to be a super hit at the box office.
3) This film was inspired by the 1998 Hollywood film “Waking Ned”.
4) The film was later remade in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam as well. The title of the Telugu remake of this film was “Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw”, the Kannada remake was titled “Dakota Picture” and the Malayalam remake was titled “Aamayum Muyalum”, which was directed by Priyadarshan himself.
5) Sudha Chandran played a negative role for the first time in this film.
6) This film was Riteish Deshmukh’s first and only film with Priyadarshan.
7) The title of this film was earlier kept as “Yeh Hai Paisa”. But later it was changed to “Malamaal Weekly”.
8) In this film Rakhi Sawant did an item number in the song “Kismat Se Chalti Hai”.

1) इस फिल्म में जोसफ अन्थोनी फर्नांडेस का रोल निभाने वाले इनोसेंट की ये दूसरी और आखरी हिंदी फिल्म थी. उनकी पहली हिंदी फिल्म ” डोली सजा के रखना ” थी जो सन 1998 में रिलीज़ हुयी थी. मालामाल वीकली फिल्म में इनोसेंट की आवाज़ को डब किया गया था. उनकी आवाज़ को टीकू तलसानिया ने दिया था.
2) इस फिल्म को क्रिटिक से नेगेटिव रिव्यु मिले थे फिर भी ये फिल्म बॉक्स ऑफिस में सुपरहिट साबित हुयी थी.
3) ये फिल्म सन 1998 में आयी हॉलीवुड फिल्म ” वेकिंग नेड ” से इंस्पायर्ड थी.
4) इस फिल्म का रीमेक बाद में तेलुगु, कन्नड़ा और मलयालम में भी बनाया गया था. इस फिल्म के तेलुगु रीमेक का टाइटल ” भाग्यलक्ष्मी बम्पर ड्रा ” था तो कन्नड़ा रीमेक का टाइटल ” डकोटा पिक्चर ” था और मलयालम रीमेक का टाइटल ” आमायूम मुयालूम ” था जिसे खुद प्रियदर्शन ने ही डायरेक्ट किया था.
5) इस फिल्म में सुधा चंद्रन ने पहली बार नेगेटिव रोल निभाया था.
6) ये फिल्म रितेश देशमुख की प्रियदर्शन के साथ में पहली और एकमात्र फिल्म थी.
7) इस फिल्म का टाइटल पहले ” ये है पैसा ” रखा गया था. लेकिन बाद में इसे बदलकर ” मालामाल वीकली ” कर दिया गया था.
