Mela Movie Unknown Facts :
1) Roopa’s role was offered to Karisma Kapoor before Twinkle Khanna. But due to lack of dates, she refused to work in this film. After karishma, this role was offered to Sonali Bendre and Raveena Tandon. But both also refused to work in this film.
2) Aditya Pancholi was offered the role of Villain before Tinu Verma. The demand of the makers was that the villain has to remain in bare body throughout the film. But Aditya Pancholi did not like this and he refused to work in this film.
3) Aamir Khan once said that signing this film was the biggest mistake of his career. Aamir Khan himself believes that this film was the worst of all his films.
4) When this film was launched in the year 1995. Then its title was kept ” Jaanwar “, then Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty and Namrata Shirodkar were going to be seen in this film. But for some reason later its title was changed and a film was made with the new starcast.
5) During the shooting of this film, there were many arguments between Aamir Khan and Dharmesh Darshan. Due to which the shooting of the film was also delayed. After the flop of this film, Aamir Khan had vowed never to work with Dharmesh Darshan.
6) This film was the first and only film of Aamir Khan and his brother Faisal Khan together.
7) This film was the first released film of 2000.
8) Before Faisal Khan, his role was offered to Salman Khan. But he refused to work in this film.
9) During the shooting of this film, Akshay Kumar proposed Twinkle Khanna for marriage. But Twinkle Khanna wanted to focus in her career. Twinkle Khanna had told Akshay Kumar that if the film Mela flopped at the box office, she would get married. After the flop of the film Mela, both of them got married the very next year on January 17, 2001.
10) This film was the third film with the title Mela, before that in the year 1948 and 1971 also two films came under the title of Mela.

मेला फिल्म से जुड़ी कुछ अनसुनी बातें ( Facts in Hindi ) :
1) ट्विंकल खन्ना से पहले रूपा का रोल करिश्मा कपूर को ऑफर हुआ था. लेकिन डेट्स न होने के कारण उन्होंने इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था. इसके ये बाद ये रोल सोनाली बेंद्रे और रवीना टंडन को ऑफर हुआ था. लेकिन उन्होंने भी इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था.
2) टीनू वर्मा से पहले विलेन का रोल आदित्य पंचोली को ऑफर हुआ था. मेकर्स की डिमांड थी की विलेन को पूरी फिल्म में खुला बदन में रहना है. लेकिन आदित्य पंचोली को ये सही नहीं लगा और उन्होंने इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था.
3) आमिर खान ने एक बार कहा था की इस फिल्म को साइन करना उनके करियर की सबसे बड़ी गलती थी. आमिर खान ये खुद मानते हैं की ये फिल्म उनकी सभी फिल्मो में से सबसे बुरी फिल्म थी.
4) जब ये फिल्म को सन 1995 में लॉन्चेड किया गया था. तब इसका टाइटल जानवर रखा गया था तब इस फिल्म में सनी देओल, संजय दत्त, शिल्पा शेट्टी और नम्रता शिरोडकर नज़र आने वाले थे. लेकिन कुछ कारण से बाद में इसके टाइटल को बदल दिया गया था और नए स्टारकास्ट को लेकर फिल्म बनायीं गयी थी.
5) इस फिल्म की शूटिंग के दौरान आमिर खान और धर्मेश दर्शन के बीच कई बार बहस हुयी थी. जिसके कारण फिल्म की शूटिंग में भी डिले होती थी. इस फिल्म के फ्लॉप होने के बाद आमिर खान ने धर्मेश दर्शन के साथ कभी काम न करने की कसम खायी थी.
6) ये फिल्म आमिर खान और उनके भाई फैसल खान की साथ में पहली और एकमात्र फिल्म थी.
7) ये फिल्म सन 2000 की पहली रिलीज़ हुयी फिल्म थी.

9) इस फिल्म की शूटिंग का दौरान अक्षय कुमार ने ट्विंकल खन्ना को शादी के लिए प्रोपोज़ किया था. लेकिन ट्विंकल खन्ना अपने करियर में ध्यान देना चाहती थी. ट्विंकल खन्ना ने अक्षय कुमार से कहा था की अगर मेला फिल्म बॉक्स ऑफिस में फ्लॉप होती है तो वे शादी कर लेंगी. मेला फिल्म के फ्लॉप होने के बाद दोनों ने इसके अगले साल ही 17 जनवरी 2001 में शादी कर ली थी.
10) ये फिल्म मेला टाइटल वाली तीसरी फिल्म थी इससे पहले सन 1948 और सन 1971 में भी मेला टाइटल से दो फिल्मे आयी थी.
