1942 A Love Story Movie Unknown Facts :
1) This film was the last film of music director RD Burman. He died on 4 January 1994 before the release of the film.
2) Before Anil Kapoor, his role was offered to Aamir Khan. But due to lack of dates, he refused to act in this film.
3) Rajjo Pathak’s role was earlier to play Madhuri Dixit. But due to lack of dates, she refused to work in this film. Then Manisha Koirala auditioned for this role. At first she was rejected, then she was selected in the second audition.
4) Before Anupam Kher, his role was offered to Nana Patekar. But Nana Patekar wanted to play Jackie Shroff’s role. But Vidhu Vinod Chopra did not agree. That’s why Nana Patekar left the film.
5) The story of this film was based on the Quit India Movement in 1942.
6) This film was Bollywood’s first Dolby Stereo film.
7) Ashwini Bhave also auditioned for the lead role in this film. But she was rejected. After being rejected, Ashwini Bhave said that she was rejected from the film only on the advice of Anil Kapoor.

11) The Munna’s role was first offered to Shahrukh Khan. But he was busy in shooting the rest of his films. So he rejected this offer.
12) Kumar Sanu reached for recording the song of this film without shaving. After which Vidhu Vinod Chopra had asked him to shave and come. Because he said that the young boy look would have a feeling in this song. Then the next day Kumar Sanu came by shaving and recorded the song “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha”.

1) ये फिल्म म्यूजिक डायरेक्टर आर डी बर्मन की आखरी फिल्म थी. इस फिल्म के रिलीज़ होने से पहले ही 4 जनवरी सन 1994 में उनकी मौत हो गयी थी.
2) अनिल कपूर से पहले उनका रोल आमिर खान को ऑफर हुआ था. लेकिन डेट्स न होने के कारण उन्होंने इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था.
3) रज्जो पाठक का रोल पहले माधुरी दीक्षित निभाने वाली थी. लेकिन डेट्स न होने के कारण उन्होंने इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था. फिर मनीषा कोइराला ने इस रोल के लिए ऑडिशन दिया था. पहले तो उन्हें रिजेक्ट कर दिया गया था फिर सेकंड ऑडिशन में उन्हें सेलेक्ट कर लिया गया था.
4) अनुपम खेर से पहले उनका रोल नाना पाटेकर को ऑफर हुआ था. लेकिन नाना पाटेकर जैकी श्रॉफ वाला रोल करना चाहते थे. पर विधु विनोद चोपड़ा नहीं माने थे. इसलिए नाना पाटेकर इस फिल्म से हट गए थे.
5) इस फिल्म की कहानी सन 1942 में हुयी क्विट इंडिया मूवमेंट पर आधारित थी.

10) इस फिल्म के ओरिजिनल स्क्रिप्ट में माधुरी दीक्षित की छोटी बहन का रोल मनीषा कोइराला निभाने वाली थी. लेकिन जब माधुरी दीक्षित इस फिल्म से हट गयी तो स्किप्ट से रज्जो की बहन वाला रोल हटा दिया गया था, और फिर माधुरी दीक्षित की जगह उनका रोल मनीषा कोइराला ने निभाया था.
11) मुन्ना वाला रोल पहले शाहरुख़ खान को ऑफर हुआ था. लेकिन वे अपनी बाकी फिल्मो की शूटिंग में बिजी थे. इसलिए उन्होंने ये ऑफर रिजेक्ट कर दिया था.
12) इस फिल्म के गाने की रिकॉर्डिंग के लिए कुमार सानू बिना शेव किये ही पहुंचे थे. जिसके बाद विधु विनोद चोपड़ा ने उनसे शेव करके आने को कहा था. क्योंकि उनका कहना था की इस गाने में यंग लड़के वाली फीलिंग आनी चाहिए. फिर अगले दिन कुमार सानू शेव करके आये थे और उन्होंने ” एक लड़की को देखा ” वाला गाना रिकॉर्ड किया था.
