1) The story of this film was based on Urdu Novel Umrao Jaan Ada.
2) All the jewellery shown in this film was real jewellery.
3) The lead actress role was first offered to Priyanka Chopra in this film. But then she was shooting for the film Bluffmaster. Therefore, she refused to work in this film. Aishwarya Rai was then replaced her.
4) Before Puru Rajkumar, his role was offered to Arshad Warsi. But then he did not have dates so he rejected this offer.
5) There was a fierce battle between Divya Dutta and Ayesha Jhulka in the sets of this film.
उमराओ जान फिल्म से जुड़ी कुछ अनसुनी बातें ( Facts in Hindi ) :
1) इस फिल्म की कहानी उर्दू नावेल उमराओ जान अदा पर आधारित थी.
2) इस फिल्म में जितने भी ज्वेलरी दिखाए गए थे वो सभी असली ज्वेलरी थी.
3) इस फिल्म में लीड एक्ट्रेस का ऑफर पहले प्रियंका चोपड़ा को हुआ था. लेकिन तब वे ब्लफ्फ़मास्टर फिल्म की शूटिंग कर रही थी. इसलिए उन्होंने इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था. फिर उनकी जगह ऐश्वर्या राय को लिया गया था.
4) पुरु राजकुमार से पहले उनका रोल अरशद वारसी को ऑफर हुआ था. लेकिन तब उनके पास डेट्स नहीं थे इसलिए उन्होंने इस ऑफर को रिजेक्ट कर दिया था.
5) इस फिल्म के सेट्स पर दिव्या दत्ता और आयशा झुलका की कुछ बात को लेकर जबरदस्त लड़ाई हुयी थी.
6) इस फिल्म में कोरियोग्राफर के लिए जे पी दत्ता पहले सरोज खान को लेना चाहते थे. लेकिन सरोज खान ने पहले हां कहा था फिर कुछ कारण से बाद में वे इस फिल्म से हट गयी थी. फिर उनकी जगह वैभबी मर्चेंट को लिया गया था.
