Plot Synopsis :
In the city of Banaras, Shankar (Dhanush) meets the free-spirited Mukti (Kriti Sanon). They fall deeply in love at first sight. Their romance starts with joy, but soon turns painful. Lies, betrayal, and heartbreak follow. Shankar becomes angry and wants revenge, while Mukti suffers in silence. Old secrets come out and their love becomes dangerous. The story shows how love can lift people up, hurt them badly, and change them forever.

This film is a spiritual sequel to the 2013 film Raanjhanaa.
This is the third film of Dhanush and Aanand L Rai together. Before this, both of them had worked together in the films Raanjhanaa (2013) and Atrangi Re (2021).
In an interview, Kriti Sanon revealed that she was persistently pursuing Anand L. Rai to cast her in a love story film. She had specifically requested him, saying, “Whenever you make a love story, you have to take me in it.”
