Dil Se Movie Unknown Facts and Trivia :
1) The song Chaiyya Chaiyya from this film was used as the opening song of the Hollywood film Inside Man (2006).
2) Lata Mangeshkar was not able to sing the song “Jiya Jale Jaan Chale” in a loud voice because she had grown quite old by then. Therefore A.R. Rehman asked her to sing it softly.
3) The song Chaiyya Chaiyya was shot in a moving train and during the shooting of this song. Shahrukh Khan did not even wear any safety cable wire for safety.
4) This film was Preity Zinta’s debut film. Although she had a supporting role in this film, she debuted as a lead actress with the film Soldier.
5) This film was director Mani Ratnam’s third film which was released in Hindi. Before this, his films Bombay and Roja were also released in Hindi and both the films got good response in Hindi. Both Roja and Bombay were originally shot in Tamil and were dubbed in Hindi and released. Whereas Dil Se was originally shot in Hindi and then dubbed in other languages and released.
6) The soundtrack album of this film was sold more than 60 lakh units.
7) Before Manisha Koirala, Kajol was offered her role. But she refused to do the film due to lack of dates.
8) Raveena Tandon was first approached for the item song in Chaiyya Chaiyya. But she refused to do the item song.
9) Tigmanshu Dhulia did a cameo in the film. He was seen in the post office scene.
10) The Tamil title of this film was Uyire. Shahrukh Khan’s voice in the Tamil version was given by Arvind Swamy.
11) This was the first Indian film to make it to the top 10 box office charts of the United Kingdom in 1998.
12) Some scenes of the parade in this film were actually shot during the 50th Independence Day.
13) This was the first Hindi film to be shot in Ladakh’s Pangong Lake. This lake was shown in a scene of the song “Satarangi Re”. But this Pangong Lake did not get much popularity then. This same Pangong Lake was shown in the climax of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s film 3 Idiots, then this lake got good popularity.
14) This was the second film of Shahrukh Khan and Tigmanshu Dhulia together. 20 years after this film, their second film Zero was released in 2018. In this film, Tigmanshu Dhulia played the role of Shahrukh Khan’s father.
15) Divya Dutta came to know that Mani Ratnam was looking for 2nd actress for his film. Divya Dutta knew Shahrukh Khan’s secretary at that time, so she requested Shahrukh Khan’s secretary to arrange a meeting between her and Shahrukh Khan. After which Shahrukh Khan and Divya Dutta met. Shahrukh told Divya that he will talk to Mani Ratnam about this. Divya Dutta thought that Shahrukh will forget this.
But then one day Divya gets a call from Mani Ratnam. Divya is very happy that Shahrukh has fulfilled his promise to her. Mani Ratnam tells Divya Dutta that ” her face is a bit similar to Manisha Koirala, so it doesn’t make any sense to take you in the film “, Manisha Koirala and Divya Dutta had worked together in the film Agni Sakshi and in that film Divya Dutta played the role of Manisha Koirala’s sister. Therefore, Divya Dutta understood Mani Ratnam’s words and then she also felt that she was not right for this role.
16) Before Malaika Arora, Shilpa Shetty and Shilpa Shirodkar were also offered the Chaiyya Chaiyya item song. Shilpa Shetty refused saying that she is afraid of heights. Whereas due to Shilpa Shirodkar’s overweight, Mani Ratnam himself later rejected her.
17) This was the second film of Shahrukh Khan and Manisha Koirala together. Before this, both of them had worked together in the film Guddu which was released in the year 1995.
18) This was the first and only film of Manisha Koirala and Preity Zinta together.
दिल से फिल्म से जुड़ी कुछ अनसुनी बातें ( Facts & Trivia in Hindi ) :
1) इस फिल्म का छैय्या छैय्या गाने को हॉलीवुड फिल्म इनसाइड मैन ( 2006 ) की ओपनिंग सांग के लिए इस्तमाल किया गया था.
2) ” जिया जले जान चले ” गाने को लता मंगेशकर ऊँची आवाज़ में नहीं गए पा रही थी ,क्यों की तब उनकी उम्र काफी हो चुकी थी. इसलिए ए. आर. रेहमान ने उन्हें धीमे ही गाने को कहा था.
3) छैय्या छैय्या गाने को चलती ट्रैन में शूट किया गया था और इस गाने की शूटिंग के दौरान शाहरुख़ खान ने सेफ्टी के लिए कोई भी सेफ्टी केबल वायर तक नहीं पहना था.
4) ये फिल्म प्रीति ज़िंटा की डेब्यू फिल्म थी. हालाँकि उनका इस फिल्म में सपोर्टिंग रोल था. उन्होंने सोल्जर फिल्म से लीड एक्ट्रेस के रूप में डेब्यू किया था.
5) ये फिल्म डायरेक्टर मणि रतनम की तीसरी फिल्म थी जो हिंदी में रिलीज़ हुयी थी. इससे पहले उनकी बॉम्बे और रोजा फिल्म को भी हिंदी में रिलीज़ किया गया था और दोनों फिल्म को हिंदी में अच्छा रिस्पांस भी मिला था. रोजा और बॉम्बे दोनों फिल्मे ओरिजिनल तमिल में शूट हुयी थी और हिंदी में डब कर के रिलीज़ किया गया था. जबकि दिल से फिल्म की शूटिंग ओरिजनली हिंदी में हुयी थी और फिर बाकी भाषाओं में डब कर के रिलीज़ किया गया था.
6) इस फिल्म के साउंडट्रैक एल्बम 60 लाख से भी ज्यादा बीके थे.
7) मनीषा कोइराला से पहले उनका रोल काजोल को ऑफर हुआ था. लेकिन डेट्स न होने के कारण उन्होंने फिल्म के लिए मना कर दिया था .
8) छैय्या छैय्या गाने में आइटम सांग के लिए पहले रवीना टंडन को संपर्क किया गया था. लेकिन उन्होंने आइटम सांग के लिए मना कर दिया था.
9) फिल्म में तिग्मांशु धुलिया ने कैमियो किया था. वे पोस्ट ऑफिस वाले सीन में नज़र आये थे.
10) इस फिल्म के तमिल का टाइटल यूयीरे रखा गया था. तमिल वर्शन में शाहरुख़ खान की आवाज़ को अरविन्द स्वामी ने दिया था .
11) ये पहली इंडियन फिल्म थी, जिसने 1998 में यूनाइटेड किंगडम की टॉप 10 बॉक्स ऑफिस चार्ट में जगह बनाई थी.
12) इस फिल्म के परेड के कुछ सीन्स को रियल में 50वी स्वतंत्रता दिवस के दौरान शूट की गयी थी.
13) ये पहली हिंदी फिल्म थी जिसकी शूटिंग लदाख के पैंगोंग लेक में की गयी थी. ” सतरंगी रे ” गाने के एक सीन में ये लेक दिखाई गयी थी. लेकिन तब इस पैंगोंग लेक को उतनी लोकप्रियता नहीं मिली थी. आमिर खान और राजकुमार हिरानी की फिल्म 3 इडियट्स के क्लाइमेक्स में यही पैंगोंग लेक दिखाया गया था, तब इस लेक को अच्छा लोकप्रियता मिली थी.
14) ये फिल्म शाहरुख़ खान और तिग्मांशु धुलिया की साथ में दूसरी फिल्म थी. इस फिल्म के 20 साल बाद 2018 में दोनों की साथ में दूसरी फिल्म जीरो आयी थी. इस फिल्म में तिग्मांशु धुलिया ने शाहरुख़ खान के पिता का रोल निभाया था.
15) दिव्या दत्ता को पता चला था की मणि रत्नम अपनी फिल्म के लिए दूसरी एक्ट्रेस की तलाश में हैं. दिव्या दत्ता की शाहरुख़ खान के सेक्रेटरी से तब पहचान थी, इसलिए उन्होंने शाहरुख़ खान के सेक्रेटरी से खुद की और शाहरुख़ खान की मीटिंग करवाने की अनुरोध की थी. जिसके बाद शाहरुख़ खान और दिव्या दत्ता की मुलाकात हुयी थी. शाहरुख़ ने दिव्या को कहा था की वे मणि रत्नम से इस बारे में बात करेंगे. दिव्या दत्ता को लग रहा था की शाहरुख़ ये बात भूल जायेंगे.
लेकिन फिर एक दिन दिव्या को मणि रत्नम का फ़ोन आता है. दिव्या काफी खुश होती है की शाहरुख़ ने उनसे किया अपना वादा पूरा किया है. मणि रत्नम दिव्या दत्ता से कहते हैं की ” उनकी शक्ल थोड़ी सी मनीषा कोइराला से मिलती जुलती है, इसलिए तुम्हे फिल्म में लेने का कोई सेंस नहीं बनता “, मनीषा कोइराला और दिव्या दत्ता ने साथ में अग्नि साक्षी फिल्म में काम किया था और उस फिल्म में दिव्या दत्ता ने मनीषा कोइराला की बहन का रोल निभाया था. इसलिए दिव्या दत्ता ने मणि रत्नम की बातों को समझा और फिर उन्हें भी लगा की वे इस रोल के लिए सही नहीं है.
16) मलाइका अरोरा से पहले छैय्या छैय्या आइटम सांग के लिए शिल्पा शेट्टी और शिल्पा शिरोडकर को भी ऑफर किया गया था. शिल्पा शेट्टी ने यह कहकर मना कर दिया था की उन्हें ऊंचाई से डर लगता है. वहीँ शिल्पा शिरोडकर की ज्यादा वजन होने के चलते बाद में मणि रत्नम ने उन्हें खुद रिजेक्ट कर दिया था.
17) ये फिल्म शाहरुख़ खान और मनीषा कोइराला की साथ में दूसरी फिल्म थी. इससे पहले दोनों ने साथ में गुड्डू फिल्म में काम किया था जो सन 1995 में आयी थी.
18) ये फिल्म मनीषा कोइराला और प्रीती ज़िंटा की साथ में पहली और एकमात्र फिल्म थी.
