1) This film was Divya Bharti’s last released film after her death.
2) Before Kader Khan, his role was offered to Amitabh Bachchan but he refused to act in this film.
3) In this film, Kader Khan’s son Sarfaraz Khan played the role of his childlessness.
4) Divya Bharti died on April 5, 8 months before the release of this film. she had completed the shooting of the film before her death but her dubbing remained. Later, the dubbing of Divya Bharti was done by the dubbing artist.
5) This film was clash with Mithun’s film Tadipaar, due to which the collections of both films were greatly affected.
शतरंज फिल्म से जुड़ी कुछ अनसुनी बातें :
1) ये फिल्म दिव्या भारती की आखरी फिल्म थी जो की उनकी मौत होने के बाद रिलीज़ हुयी थी.
2) कादर खान से पहले उनका रोल अमिताभ बच्चन को ऑफर हुआ था पर उन्होंने इस फिल्म में काम करने से मना कर दिया था.
3) इस फिल्म में कादर खान के बेटे सरफ़राज़ खान ने उन्ही के बचपना का रोल निभाया था.
4) इस फिल्म के रिलीज़ होने से 8 महीने पहले यानी 5 अप्रैल को दिव्या भारती मौत हो गयी थी. उन्होंने अपनी मौत से पहले फिल्म की शूटिंग तो पूरी कर ली थी पर उनकी डबिंग बाकी रह गयी थी. बाद में दिव्या भारती की डबिंग को डबिंग आर्टिस्ट ने किया था.
5) ये फिल्म मिथुन की ही फिल्म तड़ीपार के साथ क्लैश हुयी थी जिसके कारण दोनों ही फिल्मे के कलेक्शन बहुत प्रभाबित हुए थे.
